Description

In december 2001, Norman, Sylvain, and I spent a week at Philippe’s in the Laurentians, Sylvie brought boxes of food, Jean set up the recording unit, and we ate, practiced and recorded for five days in Philippe’s living room. On friday night about 30 friends came over and we did a very intimate show. We wanted to present, live, what this trio has been doing for the last 3 years. What started as a project of taking jazz to the CEGEPs (colleges), began to replace those megalomaniac projects of the last two albums. It was so easy, so musical, so intimate. Together, the trio breathed new life into old songs, and the project transformed into a resumé of each album I’ve done since Bug Alley band 25 years ago, including one song from my next project. There were also songs that never made it onto albums that I thought deserved the light of day. This is a home-cooked album, seasoned with love and to be savoured live in your own living room!
